Curtis Jones has disclosed that the Egyptian forward apologised to the entire Liverpool squad following the fallout from his recent interview.

The Incident

The striker was dropped from a key Champions League match following criticising the club and claiming his rapport with Arne Slot had soured.

“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, I apologise.’”

The head coach has chosen not to reveal on whether he got an explanation from the 33-year-old forward.

Team Unity

He emphasized that the team's response stayed normal. “He was the exact same Mo, he had a big smile on his face and everybody was exactly the same with him,” Jones added.

The midfielder also suggested that a teammate fighting for a place is a positive trait. “I understand there are specific approaches you can go about things,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just sit out, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”

On-Field Response

The team's performance have been impressive in the matches since the interview fallout. Jones believes the outburst were not intended to destabilise the squad.

“In moments of frustration, it has consistently come from a place of caring,” the midfielder stated. “We’re past that now and we’re building chemistry, getting results and starting to win games.”
